Wabash Valley Correctional Offenders Graduate Master Student Master Employee Program

(CARLISLE) – Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) is proud to announce several offenders graduated the Master Student Master Employee (MSME) Program. 

The program teaches participants how to complete essential steps necessary to obtain rapid employment upon their release.  Interview skills and how to answer questions about gaps in their past employment were key portions of the training.  They also worked on the basic educational requirements to obtain their National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).

Warden Brown, along with Deputy Wardens Littlejohn  & Gilmore were among many who attended the graduation.  The key note speaker for the graduation was Mitch Donick, the Parole Division Deputy Director of Operations.  Donick praised the graduates for the five months they had dedicated to the class.  Donick said, “Each of you has earned the success here today, hold on to that for your future successes.”  Donick concluded, “It’s a powerful feeling knowing you have persevered and accomplished something you may not have thought possible when you began the journey.”  

One of the class participants, Umar Long shared his thoughts about the training, “I’m thankful for the opportunity to better myself, so that I can be a good father to my daughter.  Mrs. Roberts is awesome!”
