Santa Coming to Orleans Saturday

(ORLEANS) – Orleans Chamber of Commerce officials have received official confirmation from the North Pole that Santa Claus will be visiting Orleans Saturday evening, for the 10th annual “Christmas on the Square event.”

The big guy is expected to arrive in downtown Orleans around 5 p.m. and will be on the town’s historic bandstand.

Due to the lack of snow Santa is expected to arrive this year on the town’s restored 1926 Peter Pirsch Fire Truck complete with an Orleans Police Escort.

Area boys and girls will be able to visit the Jolly Old Elf and give him their Christmas list.

Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to take Santa pictures in front of the town’s official Christmas Tree.

Also, an extra treat, Santa has brought his special mailbox from the North Pole so that the children can drop off their “Postcards for Santa.”

The free Santa Postcards will be available inside the Chamber’s Visitor Center Saturday night and can be “mailed” Santa’s Mailbox, which is located in front of the Chamber office located on the north side of the square.
