Bedford Teen Arrested After Domestic Fight

(BEDFORD) – A 17-year-old Bedford male was arrested Sunday after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to a domestic fight in the 200 block of Greenhill Addition.

At 5:49 p.m. officers arrived at the home and spoke to an adult victim who told police the juvenile had been making threats to “hit” family members, says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults.

“This stems from his cell phone being taken from him on Saturday night,” Chief Deputy Shoults added. “While investigating, it was learned that the suspect had asked to borrow the victim’s cell phone on the evening of the 7th to make a call. At some point after that, the suspect refused to give the victim the cell phone back and then threw the cell phone at the victim hitting the victim’s shoulder. The victim reported that pain was still present.”

Officers then arrested the teenager on a charge of domestic battery and he was transported to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center.
