Quick Response Saves Oolitic Home

(OOLITIC) – The quick response of the Oolitic Fire Department early Friday morning saved an Oolitic home.

According to Commander Zac Bell, Oolitic Fire Department was alerted to a residential fire at 12:22 a.m. at 906 Layeffette Avenue.  

The fire was located in the living room of the home and the fire department had control of the fire within an hour of the call.

A The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Six engines responded to the blaze which included two from Oolitic Fire Department, two from Indian Creek and two from the Shawswick fire department.

The fire departments remained on the scene for a total of two hours to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.

IU Health Hospital Ambulance Service and Duke Energy also responded to the blaze.

The Oolitic Fire Department encourages all residents to make sure their homes have addresses visible so emergency personnel can locate them quickly.
