BNL wrestlers smash down Scottsburg

SCOTTSBURG – Bedford North Lawrence posted its first dual-match win of the season, smashing down Scottsburg 69-12 during high school wrestling action on Tuesday night.

The Stars won all five contested matches on the mat.

Byron Kyger trapped Chance Uebel in 3:46 at 220 pounds, Tristan Hanners hammered Brack Terry in 50 seconds at 285, and Conner Smith pinned Hunter Rachael in 4:21 at 160.

Gunner Connoughton caught Tyler Brady in 1:54 at 195, and Reese Hamblen had the most competitive match of the night, edging Arren Lytrel 2-0 at 152.

“Everyone wrestled great tonight, for coming off Thanksgiving,” BNL coach Greg Stevens said. “I was very proud of them.”

The Stars will host Bloomington North on Dec. 12.
