Becky’s Place 6th Annual Run For Hope A Success

(BEDFORD) – The Sixth Annual Becky’s Place “Run For Hope” was a huge success with more than 200 runners and walkers at this year’s event.

The overall male winner was Colton Sons and the overall female winner was Kayla Ikerd.

The 5K Run For Hope is one of the biggest fundraisers for the organization with great participation from sponsors, volunteers, and the many individuals who take part in the event. Many people attend the event every year before they begin their Thanksgiving celebration to work up an appetite before feasting on their Thanksgiving meals.

Several took part in the ” Run For Hope” Thanksgiving Day in Bedford

Becky’s Place needs around $300,000 to operate for the full year. Financial contributions are accepted all year long. People can also donate household goods, baby items, and any other items.

Some of the items that are requested include gift cards from WalMart or JayC Foods Plus, and hygiene products such as shampoo, soaps, razors, Q-tips, and make up removable wipes. Children’s needs include diapers, baby wipes, socks, shoes, and underwear. Household items such as batteries, hand soaps, toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, coffee/creamer, and bottled water are also needed. First Aid supplies like Tylenol, and Aleve, aspirin, and band-aids are accepted. Supplies needed for rooms include pillows, towels, washcloths, hangers. cleaning and laundry soaps, dryer sheets, bleach, trash bags, Windex, and Lysol.
