Two People Arrested After Police Attempt to Serve Search Warrant

(BEDFORD) – While Bedford Police officers were obtaining a search warrant for a house in the 4000 block of Washington Avenue on Saturday morning, an officer was asked not to let anyone inside the home.

Stacy Blackburn

The homeowner, identified as 34-year-old Stacy Blackburn, and 43-year-old Ronald Phelix arrived and wanted to enter the house.

“The officer advised Blackburn of the situation and she became very upset,” says Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore. “She was asked several times to calm down before she finally removed a shoe and struck the officer. While the officer was attempting to detain Blackburn, Phelix became combative.  A second officer arrived and told Phelix to step away and after several attempts he was placed into handcuffs and detained.”

Blackburn was arrested on charges of battery causing bodily injury to a police officer, disorderly conduct, intimidation, and resisting arrest.
