Sixth Annual “Run For Hope” 5K Steps Off Thanksgiving Day

(BEDFORD) – The Sixth Annual “Run For Hope” that supports Becky’s Place will step off on November 28, 2019, starting at 9:30 a.m. until Noon on the downtown square on J Street in Bedford.

Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome and encouraged to be a part of this fun, family-friendly event that is designed to promote healthy activity and wellness while benefiting one of Lawrence County’s premiere charities.

Children and families are encouraged to participate in the 5K and the Family Fun Walk.

The course will be open a maximum of 1.5 hour. The 5K will be timed but is not part of an official race series. 

To participate, register online at www.beckysplacebedford.org or at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce through Wednesday, November 27 until 4 p.m. Register by mail, or onsite the morning of the event.

T-shirts can be ordered online until noon today and after that, they will only be available for sale on Nov. 27th and 28th while supplies last.

Registration packets can be picked up at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, November 27 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. or at Harp Commons on race day from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

“Last year we had over 200 people take part in this event, and we hope to double that this year,” said Corrina Hayes, Program Coordinator for Becky’s Place. “This has become a family tradition to many people, and it is exciting that many people have made it part of their family tradition. The ladies from the shelter will cheer the teams on as the shelter will also be at water station during the race/walk.”
