ISP Determines Threats Made Toward Mitchell Schools was Made out of State

(MITCHELL) – The Mitchell Police Department has been working diligently to obtain the identity of the person or persons who made threats towards children in the Mitchell School System.

On Tuesday they released a statement saying the threats came from someone out of state. The case has been turned over to authorities in that state to investigate.

Officers determined this information after working with Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes Division, as well as multiple social media platforms and obtaining a search warrant for social media records.

In a statement from the Mitchell Police Department – “Safety and security of our community is always our priority. While are those who wish to unnecessarily and irresponsibly incite fear and apprehension among others the Mitchell Police Department will do all it can ensure the safety of our community.”
