Evanston Man Killed in Accident in Spencer County

(FULDA) – An Evanston man was killed and three others were injured Thursday night in an accident between Fulda and New Boston in Spencer County.

According to a Spencer County Sheriff’s Department report, the accident happened just after 8 p.m. on State Road 545 near County Road 1350 North.

Police say 25-year-old Hunter Greulich, of Evanston, died at the scene.

Police say Grulich was traveling north in a 2008 Pontiac when his car left the highway, struck a ditch and entered back onto the roadway into the path of a 1999 Ford truck driven by John Korresell, of Cannelton. Korresell told officers he was unable to avoid the collision.

Jacob Ninke of Grandview, and Derek Mulzer of Evanston, who were also occupants of Grueulich’s car, were flown by helicopters to an area hospital for treatment.

Korresell was also injured and was transported by vehicle to an area hospital.

The sheriff’s office said there was no information available on patient conditions and the investigation into the accident is continuing.

Assisting at the scene were Santa Claus Police Department, Indiana State Police, St. Meinrad Volunteer Fire Department, New Boston Volunteer Fire Department, Spencer County Emergency Medical Services, Stat Flight and Air Evac ambulance services and the Spencer County Coroner’s Office assisted.
