Two Arrested on Drug Charges After Police Find 47 Grams of Meth

(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested Friday night after the multi-jurisdictional highway interdiction team – H.1.T. and the Lawrence County Drug Task Force stopped a vehicle at Fortner Lane and State Road 37.

A K-9 alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.

Police arrested 35-year-old Demetrious Coleman, of Mitchell, and 21-year-old Savannah Huff, of Bedford, on felony charges of dealing meth more than 10 grams, possession of meth more than 10 grams, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia

“During the initial search of the vehicle paraphernalia related to drug use was located, including a syringe,” says Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. “Officers also located 47grams of meth and arrested Coleman and Huff on the listed charges and transported them to the LCJ without incident.”
