Gwendolyn Rosalie “Rosie” Foddrill, 78, of DeWitt, MI passed away on October 20, 2019 while at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.

Rosie was born March 1, 1941, and grew up in Silverville, IN to parents Wayne & Bertha (Rose) Butler. She was a 1959 graduate of Fayetteville High School and attended Indiana University before she met Wayne “Bill” Foddrill. She and Bill married on May 30, 1963, making their home in Mitchell, IN where they enjoyed church, community, and sports. They were both avid bowlers, making several trips to the Hoinke Classic tournament in Cincinnati. Their only child, Brian, was born in 1964. They enjoyed watching Brian compete in many different sports and traveled the country to follow his powerlifting competitions. In addition, she loved to craft, paint and collect Longaberger baskets.

She worked at Mills Market in Bedford, IN for many years and could recount many entertaining stories of her time there. She retired as Store Manager and moved to DeWitt, MI in 2010 to be closer to her three grandsons, who were the light of her life. Rain or shine, she rarely missed a football game, soccer match or wrestling meet. Rosie was a fantastic cook and excelled at baking. She made thousands of cookies, pies, and candies, much to the delight of family and friends. She will be sorely missed!

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Bill and parents.

She is survived by her son Brian (Julie); grandsons Ben, Nate and Matt; brother Freddie (Carol) and many other family and friends.
