BMV Receives Awards from American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) announced today the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) has presented the BMV with two awards at the organization’s Region 3 conference in Milwaukee, WI.

The BMV received the Innovative Use of Technology Award for the Growth of BMV Connect in 2018. BMV Connect gives Hoosiers the option to complete 16 routine transactions including ordering a replacement ID, paying reinstatement fees, ordering an official driver record, and much more at their own convenience. These kiosks are available 24/7 in branches and select Kroger stores across the state. Indiana BMV was also presented the International Winner for this award at the 2019 AAMVA Annual International Conference.

The second award, given in the category of Public Affairs and Consumer Education for print or electronic media publication, was for the BMV’s 2017 Annual Report. Published in January 2018, this is the first magazine-style annual report ever offered by the agency. It highlighted the BMV’s activities and accomplishments and provided transparency to BMV’s strategic goals and objectives.

Upon receiving the awards, BMV Commissioner Peter Lacy said, “I am proud of the work our agency has done to continually improve the services we provide Hoosiers and provide opportunity for customer’s to visit the BMV at their convenience. Our team is dedicated to providing best-in-class driver and vehicle services and these awards are a reflection of those efforts.”
