“This auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year and is looking to be the most attended ever,” said Timber Browning, Resource Development and Marketing Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County. “This event shapes the future of the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County. The generous support of our community is what keeps us open and all the programs available to our youth each day. “

The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County fills the gap between school and home. On average more than 400 kids a day visit the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County. The club provides after school snacks, homework assistance, and life skill development programs like Chefs Hat, gardening, STEM, athletics and so much more.

“Our environment is positive and welcoming, it is their home away from home,” Browning added. “Without us, the kids we serve daily wouldn’t have somewhere to go while their loved ones were still at work. The programs we offer have a direct impact on the youth in our Club and we couldn’t do this without the support of the community and their kindness.”

This year’s event will be held at the club’s Limestone Unit, showcasing the club’s largest facility and its needs.

A special feature of the night will be entertainment with Mayor and Board Member Shawna Girgis singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” There will also be a presentation from the Lullaby and Lollipop Guilds. Themed characters will mingle with those attending the event.

“There will be a skit performed by some of our youth members,” Browning added. “We will have teens in Wizard of Oz themed costumes helping with the event. Oz themed food and desserts.”

Those attending can also participate in the first-ever interactive portion of the auction “Heads or Tails” game or the Lollipop Pull.

Also during the event, recognition will be given to three special residents that have demonstrated having they have a huge heart, superior brains, and courageous superheroes.

The event will wrap up with a live auction done by Auctioneer Max Klosterman.
