Orleans Police and Fire Departments Hosting Special Community Event Saturday

(ORLEANS) – Join the Orleans Police Department along with the Orleans Municipal Fire Department downtown on the historic town square this Saturday for a special community event of fun, games, and food.

This is also the last day of the Orleans Farmers Market for the 2019 season.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the IU Health-Paoli Ambulance Service are expected to participate in the event as well.

The one-way street in front of the bandstand – Veterans Way – will be closed to traffic that morning and will serve as the staging area for the activities.

The family festivities get underway at 9 a.m. and run until 11:30 a.m.

The community is encouraged to bring the whole family to meet and interact with your local public safety professionals.

Police and firefighters will be grilling out hamburgers and hotdogs along with chips and drinks provided by Orleans Town officials.

The Sheriff’s Department will have their Peddle Cart Course set up with Drunk Goggles to simulate driving under the influence.

Also, on display will be a number of police vehicles and fire equipment along with the IU Health ambulance.
