  • 9:51 a.m. Request for a welfare check in the 110 block of Fifth Street in Oolitic on small children living in a bad situation with no food and in bad conditions. Police say there was food in the apartment and the apartment was clean and the children were in good health
  • 10:38 a.m. Report that a UPS driver ran her off the roadway on Art Gallery Road causing damage to her vehicle
  • 10:43 a.m. 911 call from Shawswick Middle School. A 9-year-old has an eye injury from a battery
  • 11:30 a.m. Traffic hazard at State Road 60 near Mitchell. Two large dogs are napping in the roadway. Police could not find the dogs
  • 12 p.m. 911 investigation at Fayetteville Elementary. It was an accidental call
  • 12:04 p.m. Request for animal control in the first block of Trinton Avenue. The neighbor’s dogs are running lose all the time and they also have 10 to 20 chickens running loose and getting in the roadway. No one was home and animal control left a note to address the problem and warned citations would be issued for each animal running loose. There were several chickens and dogs running loose
  • 2:19 p.m. Repossession in the 7000 block of Leatherwood Road
  • 2:22 p.m. Traffic hazard in the 930 block of Art Gallery Road. A truck and trailer are parked on the crest of the hill and it is impossible to see around them. The vehicle was gone when police arrived
  • 2:24 p.m. Protective order violation in the 900 block of Hoosier Avenue. The caller says her ex came to her place of employment and retrieved a car
  • 2:31 p.m. Follow up investigation in the 1700 block of Curry Pike Road and 5700 block of South Rogers Street
  • 2:39 p.m. Agency assist with Department of Child Services in the 60 block of Davis Drive to remove a child from the property
  • 2:58 p.m. Residential entry in the 500 block of West Frank Street. Nothing appears to have been stolen
  • 2:59 p.m. Request for animal control to the 2800 block of North South Poor Farm Road about an issue with the neighbor’s dog
  • 3:08 p.m. Theft in the 430 block of West Oak Street. Someone across the street is stealing her kitten. Officers checked the house across the street and could not find the cat
  • 3:37 p.m. Large field fire in the 2940 block of South I Street. Several departments responded. Firefighters were on the scene for several hours
  • 4 p.m. Officers were out with a vehicle at State Road 158 and Western Hills
  • 4:03 p.m. Medical emergency in the 3440 block of Old State Road 37
  • 4:05 p.m. Request from the VA Hospital suicide prevention line for a welfare check in the 5800 block of State Road 60 East on a male who is frustrated with the VA and several others. The male would no answer his door
  • 4:05 p.m. Animal control requested to the 800 block of Trinton Circle for several dogs that are getting in her trash
  • 4:12 p.m. 911 call reporting an erratic driver at State Road 37 and Fifth Street
  • 4:15 p.m. Follow up investigation at Susie’s Place in Bloomington
  • 4:17 p.m. A woman in the 390 block of Topaz Street called reporting she feels suicidal. She was transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation
  • 4:21 p.m. 911 call in the 1250 block of Todd Lane. It was an accidental call
  • 5:11 p.m. Warrant service in the 2880 block of State Road 37
  • 5:18 p.m. Disabled vehicle at Wilkins Way and Main Street
  • 5:57 p.m. Medical emergency in the 150 block of Grade Road
  • 6:03 p.m. 911 call in the 8980 block of State Road. It was a pocket dial
  • 6:15 p.m. Juvenile problem in the 80 block of State Road 60 East. Kids are around his vehicle and crawling underneath and the neighbor’s cats are running around his vehicles
  • 6:20 p.m. Repossession in the 4250 block of State Road 54 West
  • 6:21 p.m. Request for a welfare check on a male in the 6010 block of Tunnelton Road. The caller says she still has not heard anything from her father. The male was not home, but someone had been there because the officers business card was gone and the deadbolts were locked
  • 6:23 p.m. Alarm sounding in the 2590 block of Coveyville Road. It was a false alarm
  • 8:07 p.m. Request for an officer to Friendship Park in Mitchell. The caller says a male approached him in a threatening manner and threatened to kill the caller
  • 8:08 p.m. Domestic fight in the 670 block of Bennett Road between the caller, her mother, and grandmother
  • 8:10 p.m. Domestic fight in the 1080 block of Bryantsville Road. The caller says her sister called her and says her husband is making threats to harm her. The caller request a welfare check on her sister. A male was arrested
  • 8:24 p.m. Request for a welfare check on a male in the 560 block of Patricia Lane. The male was fine
  • 8:26 p.m. Traffic stop in the 800 block of Stars Boulevard. The vehicle was towed and the driver cited for driving while driver’s license suspended
  • 8:28 p.m. Vandalism in the 410 block of Dale Street
  • 8:34 p.m. Medical emergency in the 30 block of Kings Ridge Road.
  • 8:41 p.m. 911 call in the 500 block of Pond Lane. It was an accidental dial
  • 8:48 p.m. Traffic stop at North 5th and West Oak streets
  • 10:10 p.m. Deputies transport a female to IU Health Bloomington from IU Health for a mental evaluation
  • 10:27 p.m. Medical emergency in the 2020 block of Plaza Drive. An 80-year-old female fell
  • 11:02 p.m. Alarm sounding at the Dollar General Store on Hillcrest Way. The building was secure

Incidents – Oct. 9

  • 1:42 a.m. Battery in the 120 block of Indian Creek Road. A female was at the store who has been hit by a male with a club and the male has left the area
  • 2:32 a.m. Medical emergency in the 2040 block of Mount Pleasant Road. A 62-year-old male was ill
  • 3:50 a.m. Shots fire in the 530 block of West Vine Street. A male says he has shot his dad and will shot others in the house. Mitchell Police requested assistance from any available units in Lawrence, Orange, ISP and Bedford. The caller says he will not hesitate to fire on an officer or on other family members and then hung up. ERT and Bedford Swat team was activated. Mitchell units reported hearing more shots fired. Police blocked off West Grissom and 6th streets, College and 6th street and Fifth and Vine streets. AT 4:55 a.m. the house lights were turned off. at 5 a.m. Bedford Swat approached the house. This ending up being a prank phone call.
  • 4 a.m. Domestic fight in the 140 block of Middle Avenue. The caller says his neighbor came over and says she has been beaten by her male partner and another female. The female did have a busted lip and then went back
