Daviess County Commissioners Issue Burn Ban

(DAVIESS CO.) – The Daviess County Commissioners issued a burn ban for Daviess County.  The ban was issued at the request of area fire departments.  The ban is in effect until Tuesday, Oct. 15th.

 Under the ban, no open burning of debris, timber, construction waste, leaves or vegetation is permitted. 

Campfires are allowed in burn rings of 23 inches in diameter and 10 inches high or higher. 

Burn barrels are allowed if a wire mesh cover is used with no larger than a quarter-inch opening. 

Gas and charcoal grills are allowed and charcoal must be fully put out upon completion.
