(BEDFORD) – Lawrence County Circuit Court Judge Nathan G. Nikirk announces the appointment of Anah Hewetson Gouty as Juvenile Referee of Lawrence Circuit Court.
Gouty is a Lawrence County native and graduated valedictorian from Bedford North Lawrence High School in 2008. She graduated from the University of Virginia with honors in 2012 earning a B.A. in History and a B.A. in American Politics.
She graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana in 2015. At Maurer, Gouty was the Executive Editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies, a member of the Sherman Minton Moot Court Advocacy Board, a Peer Group Advisor, and was named a member of the Order of the Barristers. She currently is an associate attorney at Pittman Law Firm in Bedford.
Anah, her husband, Wes, and their two children live in Bedford. Wes is employed at NSWC Crane.
Gouty also serves on numerous Lawrence County boards and is a regular attendee of the Hillcrest Christian Church. Â
