The officer saw the first driver pull into a gas station parking lot and then the his passenger began driving who was also suspended. A male and female were cited for driving while their driver’s licenses was suspended

  • 5:24 p.m. Warrant service in the 1850 block of O Street. Officers found the door unsecured. They made entry and no one was there. They secured the residence
  • 5:24 p.m. Report of an erratic driver westbound on US 50 East and Leatherwood Road
  • 5:38 p.m. 911 call in the 610 block of Mahan Road. It was an accidental call
  • 5:54 p.m. Follow up investigation in the 6520 block of State Road 58 East
  • 6 p.m. Animal control requested to the Mitchell Public Library for a 3-legged dog running loose. Street Department employees were unable to catch the dog
  • 6:43 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in an older tan vehicle westbound at State Road 158 from State Road 458. The vehicle turned onto Glory Lane
  • 6:45 p.m. Vandalism in the 110 block of East Grissom Road. The caller just witnessed a couple of juveniles throw rocks through the window of a vacant house. Police will make extra patrols

  • 7:16 p.m. Medical emergency in the 1340 block of Hancock Avenue. An 83 year old female fell outside of the home and has an ankle injury
  • 7:22 p.m. Traffic stop at Dixie Highway and State Road 37
  • 7:23 p.m. Vandalism to home in the 670 block of Indian Creek Road. The caller says her ex took her granddaughter and trashed her house and she would like to speak to an officer. He also stole her 2004 GMC Envoy. The caller showed police paperwork showing they both have full custody of the child and she had given the male permission to use the vehicle
  • 7:27 p.m. A person was on station to speak to an officer about a family member using meth
  • 7:28 p.m. Domestic fight in the 220 block of Sadie Lane
  • 7:35 p.m. Officers made extra patrols at Warren and Fifth streets after a report of children in the roadway. The kids were moving traffic cones and messing with other people’s property. The officer spoke to five young kids about their behavior and then provided them stickers and suckers
  • 7:39 p.m. Vandalism in the 430 block of Hoosier Avenue. Someone keyed their vehicle
  • 8:13 p.m. Citizen was at the Mitchell Police Department wanting to speak to an officer about giving children’s clothing to his ex-wife. The male has a no contact order and can’t do it
  • 8:20 p.m. Disabled vehicle at the south end of Salt Creek bridge
  • 8:29 p.m. 911 call in the 300 block of Shawnee Drive South. The caller says her teenage granddaughter took off on foot about an hour ago and threatened to run away
  • 8:34 p.m. Request for animal control to the 260 block of Greenhill Addition Road. A cat was caught in a tree

  • 12:05 a.m. Theft in the 340 block of Dale Street. The caller says her daughter’s ex-boyfriend has broken into her vehicle and stolen items and she is requesting to speak to an officer
  • 12:09 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at the Oolitic light
  • 12:34 a.m. Traffic stop at Patton Hill at the quarry entrance
  • 1:38 a.m. 911 call in the 320 block of Bartlett Drive. A child was playing with the phone
  • 1:39 a.m. 911 call in the 900 block of Mathis Avenue in Oolitic. No one was on the phone or would answer the phone
  • 3:07 a.m. 911 call at Michael and Stevens avenues. A male was locked out of his house and was naked
  • 3:12 a.m. Disabled vehicle at State Road 60 East and Noe Road

Accidents – Oct. 3

  • 5:19 p.m. Property damage accident in the 4180 block of Dixie Highway. The caller says she was backing out from her driveway and somehow hit a tree. She says the tree fell and her bumper fell off. The caller says she is unsure what happened. The officer says the woman attempted to alter the scene by hiding the tire tracks and markings on the road. The accident happened on private property no report was done. The woman says she is going to speak to the sheriff about the incident. The woman was told there would be no report because she gave false information to police and it occurred on private property
  • 10:07 p.m. Car/deer accident at State Road 37 between Washboard Road and Old State Road 37. Smoke was coming from the vehicle. Marshall VFD responded
