(MITCHELL) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of State Road 37 and Wesley Chapel Road.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the crash at 7:50 a.m.
According to a police report, 82-year-old John Ritchison, of Mitchell was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Wesley Chapel Road and State Road 37. Ritchison then attempted to turn south onto State Road 37 Police say he pulled his 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck into the path of a southbound 2016 Kia Optima driven by 34-year-old Brittany Lanham.
Lanham told the police, she was unable to avoid the collision. A witness told police the driver of the pickup truck pulled in front of the car causing the accident.
Ritchison suffered minor bleeding to his head.
Lanham suffered a contusion and bruising to her head.
