Incidents – Sept. 29

  • 6:49 a.m. Medical emergency in the 5310 block of State Road 54 West. Emergency personnel requested the coroner and an officer. ISP was alerted. The body was taken to the coroner’s office for an autopsy and report will be forwarded to the detective’s division for review. Sheriff Mike Branham says the death appears to be natural in cause.
  • 7:11 a.m. Animal control to the 3960 block of State Road 37 at the Marathon Station. A dog was found in the highway
  • 9:01 a.m. 911 call in the 60 block of Briar Avenue. It was an accidental call
  • 9:03 a.m. Vehicle fire at US 50 East and Shawswick School Road. Shawswick VFD responded
  • 9:15 a.m. Report of an erratic driver in a white SUV westbound on US 50 East from the Jackson County line. The driver has ran off the road several times and driving in the wrong lane
  • 9:16 a.m. A resident in the 590 block of Hidden Falls Camp Road reported a vehicle crashed into her brick mailbox and left the scene
  • 9:20 a.m. Traffic stop at Gun Club Road and State Road 37. A citation was issued for passing on a double yellow line
  • 9:55 a.m. 911 call at State Road 37 and Harrodsburg Road reporting cattle on the highway
  • 10:08 a.m. Report of an erratic driver on a trike-type motorcycle westbound on US 50 East and Stars Boulevard
  • 10:21 a.m. Request for a welfare check on a child in the 20 block of West Mystic Lake Road. The father is a known drug user and the grandmother is concerned for the child’s safety. The child was fine and with his father and his other grandmother

  • 3:37 p.m. Animal control to the 230 block of Greer Lane. A male was outside the home kicking a dog that was chained up. Police say there were no visible injuries to the dog
  • 3:40 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446 and West Powerline Road
  • 4:12 p.m. Report of an erratic driver at State Road 58 at the Monroe/Greene County line
  • 4:29 p.m. Traffic stop in the 380 block of Hillcrest Way. The male was issued a summons to appear in court for possession of a handgun without a permit. The female driver was issued a citation for speeding
  • 4:47 p.m. Report of an unwanted male in the 100 block of Seventh Street in Oolitic. The caller says her ex-boyfriend is at her home and is drunk and belligerent
  • 5 p.m. Countywide volunteer fire department radio test
  • 5:10 p.m. 911 call at West Warren Street. It was an accidental call
  • 5:13 p.m. Medical emergency in the 200 block of East Grissom Avenue. An AMR ambulance responded

  • 6:10 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a maroon Ford Explorer at State Road 37 at the Monroe County line.
  • 6:12 p.m. Juvenile problem in the 210 block of West Frank Street. Two males were smoking and being disorderly.The children were released to their parents
  • 6:17 p.m. 911 cacll in the 8590 block of State Road 54 West. There was no answer

  • 7:11 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 1200 block of West Brook Street in Mitchell
  • 7:12 p.m. Citizen assist in the 810 block of Smith Avenue. A black Jeep Liberty is blocking the caller’s driveway and they request to speak to an officer
  • 7:13 p.m. Officer made extra patrols in the 960 block of Murray Holt Road. A suspicious older maroon Chevrolet pickup was driving through the neighborhood. The caller says a male stepped out of the truck and said his wife was with the census. The male asked to come inside her home and talk to her. The woman said no and the male left
  • 7:20 p.m. Report of a controled fire in a pit with a grate in the 10950 block of US 50 West. The caller was alerted of the burn ban restrictions
  • 7:26 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446, north of Erie Church Road
  • 7:32 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446, north of Powerline Road
  • 7:37 p.m. Citizen assist at McDonald’s in Mitchell. A male was driving with a suspended license with her children in the vehicle
  • 7:44 p.m. Domestic fight in the 2450 block of Ramsey Ridge Road. Report of three people screaming at each other. Dispatch then received a second call from a male saying he had been struck in the head with a baseball bat. The male says he is bleeding and is being taken to IU Health Bedford. Dispatch then received another call from a male saying he was taking his kids home to their mother and a male came out of the house and struck him and smashed his wife’s crutches. The caller says he did get a bat and struck the male that was attacking them and he is requesting to speak to an officer
  • 7:55 p.m. 911 call in the 270 block of South Second Street in Orange County. Orange County Police was alerted
  • 8:38 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Patton Hill Road
  • 8:45 p.m. A person was on station to report they struck a deer on Tunnelton and Pinhook roads
  • 8:57 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Patton Hill Road
  • 8:58 p.m. Theft in the 1880 block of South Leatherwood Road. The caller reported someone broke into their home and stolel furniture, tv, their cats and believes it may have been the caller’s mother who is not welcome on the property
  • 9:09 p.m. Officers made extra partols in the 300 block of Angel Court after a report of a car alarm sounding
  • 9:28 p.m. Domestic fight in the 260 block of Jr. Phillips Drive. People living in a camper are arguing and the fight has gotten physical

  • 9:41 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446 and Erie Church Road. A citation was issued for seat belt violation
  • 9:43 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 north of John Williams Boulevard
  • 9:43 p.m. Request for a welfare check at State Road 37 at the Monroe County line. A man was walking in the middle of the southbound lanes wearing dark clothing. Indiana State Police responded

  • 12:54 a.m. Lift assist in the 440 block of 9th street. A female fell out of bed
  • 3:13 a.m. Suspicious vehicle at Dixie Highway and Stevens Lane. Shining their lights at the house
  • 3:20 a.m. Report of a vehicle parked at the intersection of Stevens Lane and Dixie Highway and shining a light around
  • 3:33 a.m. Traffic stop at 16th and H streets
  • 3:57 a.m. Traffic stop at US 50 East and Boyd Lane. A citation was issued for speed
  • 4 a.m. 911 call in the 1610 block of John Williams Boulevard. There was no one on the line, just static. Bedford police were alerted
  • 4:30 a.m. Disabled vehicle at State Road 446 and US 50 East
  • 4:51 a.m. Medical emergency in the 400 block of Sunset Court. A female fell and injured her hip
