(BEDFORD) – A Mitchell man was seriously injured after he crashed his motorcycle on State Road 37 near 30th Street Saturday night.
According to a Bedford Police report, 29-year-old Oscar Reyes Martinez was unable to tell police what happened leading up to the accident at 9:40 p.m.
A witness told police the motorcycle passed her traveling south on State Road 37 at a high rate of speed as she was approaching the merge lane at 39th Street.
Martinez passed her vehicle on the right. The witness told police she didn’t witness the crash but believes the speed he was traveling at and the loose gravel may have contributed to the accident.
Martinez suffered a fractured or dislocated back and was taken by ambulance to IU Health Hospital and then flown by medical helicopter to a Louisville Hospital for treatment.
