(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested on a charge of public intoxication after Bedford Police were requested to conduct a welfare check in the 1200 block of 13th Street, Thursday.
When officers arrived at 4:26 p.m. they found two people in a blue vehicle that appeared to be sleeping.
Those people were 48-year-old Iva Chattan and 33-year-old Tony May.
“Officers verbally attempted to wake them up and eventually had to physically move them to get a response,” said Chief Terry Moore. “Both showed usual signs of intoxication and had been given a warning earlier in the day. Officers arrested both on a charge of public intoxication.”
