(BEDFORD) – Seymour won a three-set thriller on the far court, squeezing out a tense 3-2 victory over Bedford North Lawrence on Thursday afternoon.

The Owls (6-1) rallied from a first-set loss at No.2 doubles as Trey Hohenstreiter and Andrew Levine adjusted the intensity volume to clip BNL’s newly-formed tandem of Steven Graham and Konley Woodward 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 for the ultimate deciding point.

Seymour swept the doubles as Brandon Hubbard and Will Rinehart stopped Cameron Gratzer and Wyatt Scherschel 6-2, 6-3, and also added a win at No.1 singles as Isaac Hardin topped Cade Provo 7-5, 7-5.

“They played well on every court,” BNL coach Donnie Thomas said. “It would have been nice to pick up the win, but there’s nothing to complain about. We just didn’t keep up the intensity the last two sets (at 2 doubles).”

The Stars won the lower singles as Adam Tlustek cruised past Braden Handloser 6-4, 6-0 at No.2, and freshman Graham Turner won a marathon match with Hunter Heckman at No.3, pulling out a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5 in the tiebreaker) triumph.

“Adam kept the ball in play and hit to good angles,” Thomas said. “Cade was awesome at No.1, he was still in doubles mode for a few points.”

BNL (3-5) will host Clarksville and Trinity Lutheran on Saturday.
