Patoka Lake Hosts “Wheelin’ IN the Fish” Event, Sept. 21

(PATOKA LAKE) – Patoka Lake will host “Wheelin’ IN the Fish,” the 17th annual free fishing event at Osborn Boat Ramp on Patoka Lake on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Wheelin’ IN the Fish” promotes the accessible features of Patoka Lake for people with disabilities and their families. All fishing supplies will be provided, including poles and tackle.

This year’s event this year will have a few changes due to high water. Boat rides may not be available, and fishing will be limited. Free lunch will still be provided. A cornhole tournament and other land games will be played.

The DNR, Patoka Bass Anglers, and Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living (SICIL) host this annual event. Bring lawn chairs and sunscreen. Certificates and door prizes will be awarded to all participants.

Osborn Boat Ramp is located off State Road 145, 2 miles north of the intersection with S.R. 164 and 14 miles south of French Lick. Watch for the signs. For more information call the Patoka Lake Nature Center at 812-685-2447.
