Juvenile Injured in Dirt Bike Accident

(JOHNSON CO.) – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a dirt bike accident that occurred Saturday afternoon in Bargersville.  

At approximately 4:20 p.m., Indiana Conservation Officers were called to investigate a dirt bike accident that left a Johnson County juvenile injured. 

Initial investigation revealed that an 8-year-old was operating a Honda CFR dirt bike on private property near the 6000 block of 375 North.  The child lost control and fell off the dirt bike while attempting to operate it. 

As a result of the fall, the juvenile sustained a broken leg and was transported to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in Indianapolis for treatment.

Investigating officer ICO Nick Wilson indicated the juvenile was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  

Indiana Conservation Officers always promote the use of safety equipment for all individuals operating off-road vehicles.  Participating in off-road vehicle operational classes are always highly encouraged when available.  

Assisting agencies included Bargersville Police Department and local EMS.
