Columbia City Man Dies in Off-Rad Vehicle Accident in Noble County

(NOBLE CO.) – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle (ORV) accident that occurred last night at the intersection of 600 South and Old 102 near Columbia City.

At 9:01 p.m., responders were dispatched to the area for an ORV accident involving injury. Upon arrival, responders located Kenneth Stroud, age 61, of Columbia City unresponsive in the roadway near a 2019 Polaris Sportsman 570 that had been rolled on its side.

Stroud was treated on the scene by medical personnel,  then flown to Parkview Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m. today.

Initial investigation has revealed that Stroud was driving recklessly in the intersection and lost control, resulting in the machine ejecting him and then rolling over on top of him. He was not wearing a helmet or protective riding gear at the time of the accident.
