Master Gardener Course Planned in Seymour

(SEYMOUR) – A Jackson County Master Gardener course will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays from Sept. 3 to Dec. 10 at the Jackson County Learning Center, at 323 Dupont Drive.

The program is being offered by Purdue Extension Jackson County.

Those attending will learn the newest information on gardening and home horticulture.

Topics to be covered include plant science, insect identification, turfgrass care, herbaceous ornamentals, fruit production, beekeeping, plant diseases, soils science, wildlife damage control, vegetable production, woody ornamentals, pesticide safety, and invasive species.

The cost, which covers material and expenses such as reference notebooks, mailings, and name badges, is $100 per participant or $120 for couples.

After completing the course, will be Master Gardener and can volunteer to share tips and lead educational gardening activities in their communities.
