(SEYMOUR) – Two Seymour women were injured in a house fire Friday night.
According to a spokeswoman with Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital, 85-year-old R. Jean Brock, is listed in fair condition.
She and 64-year-old Brenda Jackson were in the house at the time of the fire.
Both suffered smoke inhalation and burns in a fire in the 2000 block of Lakeview Drive in the Oxmoor housing addition.
One of the women told police a cigarette could have started the fire that was reported at 8:12 p.m. Friday.
Firefighters Seymour Fire Department and Jackson Washington and Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Departments battled the blaze.
Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
