Two People Injured in Three-Vehicle Accident on State Road 37

(BEDFORD) – Two people were injured after a three-vehicle accident on State Road 37, near Old State Road 37, Tuesday morning.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 28-year-old Arnold Lagle, of Williams, was traveling north on State Road 37 in a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu around 6:31 a.m.

Behind him was a 2016 Jeep driven by 20-year-old Emilee Amburgey, of Bedford.

Lagle told police the Jeep was traveling “very close” to his vehicle and had been for several miles.

Lagle said that traffic in front of him began to slow, and as he slowed his car, he was struck in the rear by Amburgey’s Jeep.

Amburgey told police her brakes were not working at the time of the incident.

After the impact, the Jeep was struck by a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by 59-year-old Michael Terrell, of Bedford.

Terrell told police that when the two vehicles crashed he could not get his truck stopped in time and collided into the rear of Amburgey’s Jeep.

Amburgey and 24-year-old Haylee Lagel, a passenger in Arnold Lagel’s car, both complained of neck pain following the incident.
