“Jeff’s extensive experience speaks for itself,” said Chad Priest, Regional CEO of the American Red Cross, Indiana Region. “He will be a great asset in this position, as we continue to build resilient communities across the state of Indiana.”

Imel is a dad, husband, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician and a Marine Corps veteran. He also worked several years as an electrical engineer, and in 2002, he started a company that designed and manufactured drones for the military. In 2015, he left the drone industry to pursue his dream of helping people on their worst day and returned to school to become an Emergency Medical Technician and Emergency Medical Services Educator.

Imel began his career at the American Red Cross as a Part-Time On-Call Health and Safety Instructor. He transitioned into the role of Supervisor of Service Delivery Instructors, managing 14 paid and volunteer instructors in Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia.

“I get to go to work every day with our organization’s worthwhile mission in mind—to prevent and alleviate human suffering,” said Imel. “This new role will provide many new opportunities to make an impact.”
