Republicans to Conduct Conventions in Brownstown, Medora

(JACKSON CO.) – Conventions to narrow down the field of candidates for town council seats will be held this month in Brownstown and Medora.

From 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, registered Republican voters in Medora can attend a town convention at Medora Christian Church at 76 South George St.

The ballot will contain the names of six people – Jerry Ault, Sharon Bowers, James Davers, Rhonda Freeman, Pamela Smith, and Rebecca Zirkel.

The three with the most votes will have their names placed on the November 5th general election ballot and will face Democrat candidate, Robert Thompson.

From 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 19, registered Republican voters in Brownstown can attend a town convention at the Jackson County Courthouse on South Main Street.

On the ballot for Ward 1 are Terry Fordice and Gregory Goshorn. On the ballot for Ward 5 are Colby Carter and Timothy Robinson.

The top candidate from each ward will move on to the general election.

The winner of the Ward 1 race will face Democrat Pamela Fleetwood. The Ward 5 winner will be unopposed.

In both conventions, Republican residents living within the town limits are eligible to vote.
