(WESTFIELD) – A woman died in a single-car crash in Westfield Monday night.
Westfield police say it happened at the intersection of Grassy Branch Road and Mere Blvd. just before 8 p.m.
A 2006 Buick sedan driven by Debra Clark of Westfield lost control and crashed head-on into a tree.
The police report says the vehicle had “broken into several pieces.”
Clark had to be extricated from the car, and was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Westfield Police Department is still investigating the crash.
