(INDIANAPOLIS) – After countless hours spent practicing and rehearsing for today’s competition, 40 Indiana high school bands have fought long and hard for a spot in tonight’s Sweet 16 Music for All Indiana State Fair Band Day Presented by Music Travel Consultants. Tonight at 8 p.m. the Sweet 16 will battle it out again for the prestigious first-place trophy and the honor of being named “Indiana’s Best Band.”
According to Douglas Fletcher, Indiana State Fair band day coordinator, “Band Day is going very well. The bands have some very creative show concepts. The level of performance from the students is amazing.”

The Band Day competition has eight judges who rank performances and send the “Sweet 16” to the finals. This year is the competition’s fifth year partnering with Music for All, an arts and advocacy organization.
