(UNDATED) – Registration will take place Saturday, August 3, 2019 for the Mini Miss Persimmon contest.
Registration is Saturday, August 10, 2019 for the Little Miss contest and Saturday, August 17, 2019 for the Junior Miss contest.
Completed registration forms will be accepted from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. those days at Mitchell City Hall at 407 South Sixth Street.
Applications for the contests are available in the lobby of the Lawrence County Visitors Center, at 533 West Main Street in Mitchell. Applications can be picked up now until August 9, 2019.
Applicants should come with the completed forms, entry fee and a billfold-size headshot photograph.
A $40 entry fee is required and space is limited to 20 girls in each contest.
Pageant chairwoman Jennifer McNeely says each category is on a first-come, first-served basis and spots will fill quickly.
All contestants must be enrolled in a Lawrence County school. The Mini contest is open to girls in grades K-2. The Little Miss contest is open to girls in grades 3-5. The Junior Miss is open to girls in grades 6-8.
Practices will be held August 31, September 7, September 14, and September 16. There will be a pizza party/rehearsal September 19, 2019.
Judging will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. September 21, 2019.
Rehearsal for the Main Street stage is September 22, 2019 at 4 p.m.
Crowning will be held on the Main Street Stage September 23, 2019 at 7 p.m. Winners of the three categories will ride in the Persimmon Festival Parade September 28, 2019.
Contestants will be required to wear dressy (semi-formal) dresses, casual wear outfits (school clothes) and have blue shorts for the program. All clothing must be age-appropriate.

Activities on Main Street do not begin until Monday, September 23, 2019 and will run through Saturday, September 28, 2019.
