Girl Scouts Hosts Second Annual S’mores on the Circle

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Did you know that the first known, published s’mores recipe was credited to Girl Scouts?

In honor of National S’mores Day, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana will host its second annual S’mores on the Circle on Friday, August 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.

The event will feature local chefs who create gourmet s’mores that will be sold as a fundraiser for $5 each (cash only).

All proceeds will go towards financial assistance for Girl Scouts so that every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout has the opportunity to participate in hands-on adventures and STEM activities.

The chefs have been challenged to showcase their creative flair in what a s’more means to them.

They’ll bring the spice or the sweet goodness to show off their talents, all in a fun atmosphere to raise funds for Girl Scouts. Participating chefs include:

  • Chef Shannon Anderson, Basically Buttercream
  • Chef Jodi Colbert, Bonnie and Clydes
  • Chef Courtney Curry
  • Chef Matt Kovacinski, Weber Grill Restaurant
  • Chef Jose Lara, Liter House
  • Chef Erica Oakley, The Alexander
  • Chef Lauren Reed, The Farm at Prophetstown
  • Chef Morgan Roddy, Queer Chocolatier
  • Chef Megan Vohs, Levy at Bankers Life Fieldhouse
  • Chef Jay Webb, Levy at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

We’re Girl Scouts

We’re 2.5 million strong – more than 1.7 million girls and 750,000 adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ to change the world. Our extraordinary journey began more than 100 years ago with the original G.I.R.L., Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, she organized the very first Girl Scout troop and every year since, we’ve honored her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
