Jimmy Franklin Skeen, 87, of Orleans, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019, at StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born June 7, 1932, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Roy and Imogene (Davis) Skeen. He married Wilma Jean Mitchell June 9, 1954, and she preceded him in death. January 18, 2016.
Jimmy retired from A&H Trucking and was a member of Orleans Christian Church. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include his children, Cynthia Jane (Greg) Terry of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Jimmy Dean Skeen of Orleans; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Destiny) Skeen Jesse Skeen, and Ashley Willard; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Edna Mathews of Bedford and Karen Pace of Bedford; special family member, Walter Dale (Denise) Maple of Bedford.
His parents; wife; and siblings, Michael Skeen and Margie Reynolds, preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Tom Bostic officiating.
