Updated: Heat Wave Changes Lawrence County 4-H Fair Schedule

Update: The 4-H swine show scheduled for Thursday afternoon will be moved back to a 6:00 p.m. start time. The Midway (carnival) will start running at 7:00 p.m. and run the full five hours. These changes have been made to address the excessive heat wave. Paid parking will be in effect at 4:00 p.m. Track events will begin at 8:00 p.m.

The Lawrence County Fair Board encourages everyone to hydrate and find shade often. They will also be monitoring the animals closely as the heat will also be affecting them also.

(BEDFORD) – The Lawrence County 4-H Fair continues this week with plenty of things for fairgoers to do.

The normal carnival rides and foods are there onsite, but there are many projects around that don’t always get noticed.

With the temperatures continuing to rise, you can go cool off in the Exhibition Hall and take a stroll and look at the numerous craft projects and quilts that have been completed by 4-Hers.

The quad races took place at the track on Tuesday evening with approximately 20 teams competing. Cross cycle racing also took place on Wednesday night at the track.

Be sure to stop by the fair on Friday evening to watch the Southern Indiana Tractor Pulls. The garden tractor pulls start around 7:00 p.m. Admission to watch the pulls is $8 adults, $5 ages 7-12, 6 and under free.

On Saturday, antique tractor and truck pulls begin at 7:00 p.m. at the track. The cost is $7 adults, $5 ages 7-12, and 6 under are free.

If you enjoy listening to music, the Summer Belt Band will be performing on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the tent. Justyn Underwood and the Sod Busters Band will perform on Friday evening at the tent.
