(BLOOMINGTON) – Indiana University Police Department issued an Emergency Alert after confirming a juvenile female was attacked by a juvenile male at Merrill Hall.
The suspect assaulted the victim with a sharp-edged instrument. The female victim was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital with superficial injuries.
The male suspect was taken into custody off campus shortly after the incident. No other students or staff were involved or injured in during the incident.
Both subjects are on campus participating in a summer music program.
IUPD responded within two minutes of the first 911 call.
With the help of Jacob School of Music staff and local law enforcement, IUPD was able to identify and locate the suspect quickly and without incident.
This case is still under investigation.
