Indiana Department of Homeland Security Announces Notice of Funding Opportunity for Secured School Safety Grant

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indiana Department of Homeland Security announces the latest Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the FY20 Secured School Safety Grant. The Secured School Safety Grant is a matching grant program for Indiana school corporations, accredited non-public schools, charter schools or a coalition of school corporations/charter schools applying jointly to address potential safety threats. The FY 2020 NOFO contains several updates and changes, and school administrators are encouraged to review the NOFO closely prior to applying.

The Secured School Safety Grant application period will begin on Monday, July 15, 2019, and close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019.

Instructional Videos are Available

An instructional video for the expanded grant is now available. The video will provide additional information on the practical aspects of the school-specific IntelliGrants Application Module.

To access the training, log into IntelliGrants, click “My Training Materials,” and choose “IDHS: Secured School Safety Grant (SSSG) Training Video.” You must have received your login credentials previously by submitting the requested System Administrator Form.

System Administration Forms and FEIN

Organizations, including schools, interested in applying for funding through IDHS must complete the Intelligrants System Administrator Form prior to accessing IntelliGrants. This form is a required step for a user to receive access to the new grant management system.

Note: Some schools received a message earlier this week requesting they provide their federal employer identification number. Recipients of this message are asked to complete the included instructions to receive IntelliGrants credentials.
