(BARTHOLOMEW/JACKSON CO.) — A traffic switch and bridge closure are scheduled this weekend and early next week as part of the I-65 reconstruction project in Bartholomew and Jackson Counties.
Traffic Switch
E&B Paving Inc. will switch traffic on I-65 NB beginning at MM 61, south of State Road 58 (Walesboro) in Bartholomew County, the evening of Friday, July 12, 2019.
Northbound traffic will move to newly constructed concrete pavement on the northbound side of I-65 at MM 61 and continue through the project limits near MM 64.
The median lane and shoulder will remain closed while additional work is completed. Southbound lanes will also remain restricted until median work is complete.
Bridge Closure
County Road 800 North will close over I-65 in Jackson County, beginning Monday, July 15, for bridge rehabilitation. The road will close for approximately 55 days and is expected to reopen by late September.
The detour for the closure is North County Road 1000 East to County Road 700 North to US 31.
Motorists should continue to exercise caution in the ongoing construction zone between Columbus and Seymour. All work is weather dependent.
