(MITCHELL) – South Lawrence Utilities is flushing water lines to eliminate discolored water from the system.
One of the water wells had to be repaired and during that time period, the utility had to run a well that caused the discoloration.
Even though it may be discolored, it is free of bacteria and safe to use.
The utility has notified IDEM of the issue to make them aware.
Residents are asked to run the cold water to help clear customer lines and let the utility know what areas that are experiencing the problem. The utility phone number is 812-849-5544.
