Fire Damages Pinky’s Pub in Paoli

(PAOLI) – Around 10:30 a.m. this morning, a fire in a deep fryer caused significant fire, smoke and water damage to Pinky’s Pub on Paoli’s North side of the square.

Paoli and French Lick Firefighters arrived quickly to put out the blaze.

According to business owner Bryan Wellman, a fire in a deep fryer caused the blaze.

” I just had the fire extinguishers as well as the fire suppression system to the deep fryer inspected last week. For some reason the fire suppression system to the deep fryer did not work,” said Wellman.

“I do not know how long I will be closed until I look and see how much damage I suffered and talk to my insurance company. I started the business in July last year. This is a busy time of year for us, and the fire came at a bad time. Not to mention the Fourth of July is a busy time,” added Wellman.

Paoli and Orange County Police Officers direct traffic around the square in Paoli as firefighters work the blaze.

Firefighters remained on the scene to make sure the blaze was completely out and had not spread to other nearby business on the square.

The Paoli Police Department and Orange County Police Department directed traffic around the square while firefighters worked the blaze.

Orange County Emergency Management and Orange County EMS also responded to the blaze.
