HR, Compliance Topics Highlight Indiana Chamber’s July Conference Lineup

(FRENCH LICK) – One of the more unique Indiana Chamber of Commerce learning opportunities of the year is the Advanced HR Management Seminar held at the historic French Lick Resort on July 11-12, 2019.

There will be a Q&A session after every presentation that will allow attendees to ask their most challenging questions on some of the most complicated HR topics they face today.

Implicit bias – how it informs and influences hiring and disciplinary practices at businesses – is one of the topics for the two-day event. Other agenda items include how to grow a business via diversity and inclusion, dealing with addiction in the workplace, performing an HR compliance audit, plus recognizing and responding to workplace violence.

The program will be facilitated by Hope Zeller of HOPE (Helping Other People Excel), a popular presenter at past Indiana Chamber events. The cost to attend is $499 for each Indiana Chamber member and $599 for each non-member.

Later in the month, the 2019 Indiana Wage & Hour Law Seminar – held at the Indiana Chamber conference center in downtown Indianapolis – is designed to help keep businesses in compliance with wage and hour laws so they can avoid hefty fines, penalties and litigation.

This July 25, 2019 event, presented by attorneys from Ice Miller, is ideal for management level HR, payroll and accounting professionals.

The 2019 Indiana Wage & Hour Law Seminar educational sessions include: #MeToo, pay equity, equal pay and child labor laws; new rules for coverage and exemptions, compensable working time; calculation of overtime; and wage garnishment.

The registration fee is $399 for each Indiana Chamber member, with a $499 list price.

Special pricing is available when sending multiple attendees to the same event. Continuing education credits are available for both seminars.
