Gearry George Hancock, 73, passed away Thursday, June 27th, 2019, surrounded by family and friends at his residence.
Born May 30th, 1946, in Bedford he was the son of Milton O. “Pete” and Edna M. (Lucas) Hancock. He married Beverlee Kay King April 9, 1965.
Gearry was employed at Hancock Construction Company and for several years he worked for P.F. Environmental located at Lehigh Cement Plant. He served on the City of Mitchell Fire Department for 47 years and was a graduate of Mitchell High School in 1964.
Survivors include, wife, Beverlee Hancock of Mitchell, daughter Cynthia(Brian) Rainey of Mitchell, grandsons Mitchell and Grant Rainey, brother Jerry L. Hancock, Sr. of Mitchell, and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and brother, Milton O. Hancock, Jr., preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from noon until service on Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.chastainfuneralhome.com
