Two Injured in Four Vehicle Accident on State Road 37

(BEDFORD) – Two Bedford residents were injured in a four-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 37 and Fifth Street on Tuesday.

According to a Bedford Police report, the accident happened at 4:21 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say Angie Clark, 40, of Bloomington, was traveling south in a 2008 Honda Civic on State Road 37 and was slowing to stop for backed up traffic at the intersection of Fifth Street.

Behind her was a 48-year-old Kimberly Gater, 48, of Bloomington, in a 2015 Honda CRV. She told police she had to abruptly stop due to traffic and veered to the left of Clark’s car to avoid a collision.

Katrina Brock, 41, of Bedford, was driving in a 2005 Honda. She was also traveling south on State Road 37 and was behind Gater’s vehicle. She told police she also had to abruptly hit her brakes in an attempt not to hit Gater’s car and was able to stop before hitting Gater’s car.

Police say Alexis Wolfe, 19, was also traveling south on State Road 37 behind Brock’s car in a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic. She told police she didn’t see the vehicles stopped in front of her until it was too late. Her car hit the rear of Brock’s car and pushed it into Gater’s and Clark’s cars.

Wolfe suffered an abrasion to her knee and lower leg and was transported by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.

Brock complained of chest pain but refused medical treatment.

Gater and Clark were not injured during the incident.
