Telehealth Coming to North Daviess Schools Thanks to Grant

(DAVIESS CO.) – Telehealth services are coming to North Daviess Schools thanks to a grant from Indiana Rural Health Association.

According to Superintendent Bob Bell, the program allows students to be treated for routine minor illnesses such as colds through Daviess Community Hospital via technology. North Daviess is the first school in Daviess County to offer telehealth.

Starting out, the program will only be available for kids in Kindergarten to 6th Grade if parents and guardians fill out the proper paper work.

Children who get sick at school can now receive a diagnosis and be prescribed medication if needed. Officials stress that this doesn’t mean sick children should be sent to school.
