(MITCHELL) – Come to the Mitchell Community Public Library at 2 p.m. June 24, 2019 and hear Steve Grissom present a show-and-tell program all about Mitchell astronaut Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom and his amazing career as one of our nation’s first astronauts.
At 2 p.m. June 25, 2019 explore propulsion with a homemade rocket experiment. Change the size, angle or distance of the launch, adjust the amount of thrust – it’s up to you to engineer the best flight.

Stargazing at the park
Spend an evening at the Mitchell Memorial Park June 29, 2019 from 8-11 p.m. playing, drawing, creating and enjoying the stars. Join the library and the Indiana Astronomical Society as we star gaze with telescopes. Bring your own or enjoy the ones provided.

Stevens Puppet Show will be telling classic fairy tale stories with beautiful professional marionettes July 26, 2019 at 2 p.m. The whole family is invited for an afternoon of imagination and fun.
