Officers Use Narcan to Revive Driver

(BEDFORD) – Bedford Police officers used a 4 mg dose of Narcan to revive a driver Monday afternoon.

According to a Bedford Police report, officers were called to 421 block of 20th Street at 3:10 p.m. in regards to a vehicle that had crashed into a fence and witnesses reported that the driver was slumped over the steering wheel and unresponsive.

When BPD Major Jeremy Bridges and Sgt. Jesse Crane arrived on the scene, Maj. Bridges broke the window of the 2012 Toyota Corolla to get to the driver, 35-year-old Erika Asbury, of 806 Lincoln Ave.

The officers pulled Asbury from the vehicle and gave her the dose of Narcan. She then became responsive. She told police she had “shot up heroin” and didn’t know what was going on.
