Step Right Up for Circus Day 2019 in French Lick

(FRENCH LICK) – Fire breathers, stilt walkers, carnival games – Circus Day 2019 will be bigger and better than ever.

Presented by the French Lick West Baden Museum as a celebration of our circus past, Circus Day will be held Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the downtown French Lick parking lot in front of the museum.
Admission is free.

There will be a charge for some games and activities, including the costumed pet parade, which will be held at Noon.

“We are so excited to bring the circus arts back here to the valley,” says museum director Patty Drabing. “Back in the early 1900’s Ed Ballard’s Hagenbeck Wallace circus was one of the largest in the country and it was based here. That’s why we have our amazing circus diorama in the museum.”

In addition to the games and roving circus performers, the Brazil concert band will play circus favorites at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Hadi Shriners will entertain between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The event will also feature a giant bounce house, an ax-throwing wagon, and the amazing Barnum & Bailey Two Hemispheres circus bandwagon.

The event is an important fundraiser for the museum and is part of a summer Circus Festival.

Cirque Ma’Ceo will be performing in French Lick July 25-27.
